FSSAI and NADA to work mutually to prevent use of doping substances in sports nutrition supplements

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) joined hands  to ensure dope- free sports nutrition supplements in  market. As per the memorandum of agreement (MoU) signed between FSSAI and NADA , a working group of scientific committee will be set up that will give direction for setting standards for manufacturers and importers and test procedures for analyzing doping substance in nutrition supplements.

They will also work together to come out with guidance on labelling with instructions on using supplements and printing ‘dope-free’.

National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) was set up as registered society under the Societies Registration Act of 1890 on November 24, 2005 with a mandate for Dope free sports in India. The primary objectives are to implement anti-doping rules as per WADA code, regulate dope control programme, to promote education and research and creating awareness about doping and its ill effects.
