FSSAI issues notice to companies for illegal manufacture/Sale/Import of Creatine Monohydrate

FSSAI has issued letters to the Commissioners of Food Safety in all States and UTs, FSSAI Authorised Officers and all Central Licensing Authority that Creatine Monohydrate is being manufactured, imported and sold by various companies without an FSSAI License number under various brands through e-commerce platforms.

The FSSAI has also notified to various e-commerce platforms Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Homeshop18 to immediately discontinue the sale of Creatine Monohydrate .

Creatine Monohydrate is one of the most popular supplements used by people especially athletes for building lean muscle mass and increase strength.

Currently Creatine Monohydrate is a product/ingredient for which no standards have been prescribed by FSSAI and FSSAI has declared manufacture/Sale/Import of Creatine Monohydrate by FBOs as illegal and unauthorized.
